Our Story
Unite Theatre for Social Action (UTSA) is a pioneering non-governmental organization in Bangladesh, established in 1997. UTSA promotes mental health awareness and social change through therapeutic theatre, psychodrama, and theatre for development, using the innovative Unit Theatre Concept (UTC). Over the years, it has organized more than 5,000 theatre shows addressing issues like child rights, disability, gender-based violence, environment, and disaster management. Recognized for its unique blend of art and activism, UTSA is registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh.

Message from the President
Quazi Mostain Billah
I am pleased to extend my warm greetings to you all on behalf of UTSA, a non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization dedicated to the socio-economic development of Persons with Disabilities, underprivileged, and vulnerable people in Bangladesh. UTSA has been working to improve the lives of vulnerable populations through innovative approaches such as ‘Theatre therapy’, ‘Psychodrama’, ‘Sociodrama’, and ‘Theatre for Development’. Our experiences have shown us that a theater-based approach alone cannot solve human problems by reaching out to people in vulnerable conditions. Hence, UTSA is now taking a new direction in developmental ideology to bring a more holistic approach to the challenges faced by the most vulnerable populations.
