Education Program

Free Primary Education for Underprivileged Children

Unite Theater for Social Action (UTSA), an NGO, promotes education for underprivileged children and women, aiming to improve their socio-economic status and raise awareness about education and social issues. Under the “REHECDU for the Child and Women” program, UTSA established Anonto Primary School with Chittagong City Corporation’s help to provide education to underprivileged children in urban areas. Anonto Primary School offers education, health, cultural, rights, and skill development opportunities to children in marginalized communities. The school is mainly supported by private donations, donations from the executive and general council members of UTSA, and the support of various socio-cultural and corporate organizations.

About us

UTSA started a child education program under the “REHECDU for the Child and Women” program in 2003 to provide access to education for underprivileged children in urban areas. One of the initiatives taken by the organization was to work with the Chittagong City Corporation to establish Anonto Primary School in the Pahartoli area. The school is now running inside the Akbarshah Housing Society and provides educational opportunities to children who may otherwise not have access to them. The program aims to promote the education and socio-economic development of underprivileged children in the area.

Our Activities

Our school activities encompass a range of professional services such as education, nutrition, healthcare and sanitation. Additionally, we organize cultural events and commemorate significant national and international occasions.

Regular Teaching

Regular teaching is ongoing to follow government rules, ensuring that our students receive the best possible education. Currently, pre-primary through to Class Three are in session, where our experienced teachers are dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive learning environment for every student.

Feeding Program

The school provides nutritious meals twice a week to all its students. This program not only helps students maintain a healthy diet but also supports their focus and energy levels, enabling them to reach their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. By offering these nutritious meals, the school is committed to ensuring that its students receive the best possible education and opportunities for success.

Health & Hygiene

The aim of the session was to educate and instill good hand hygiene habits among individuals, especially children. It emphasizes the importance of clean hands, particularly before and after meals, to maintain good health and prevent the spread of harmful germs and bacteria. The aim is to create lifelong habits for better health and well-being, not just for today, but for the future.

Cultural Activities

Weekly cultural sessions are an integral part of our organization's commitment to fostering creativity and expression among our students. These dynamic sessions encompass a range of artistic disciplines, including dance, drama, recitation, art, and drawing.

-Donating money or resources to support the school

-Volunteering time as a mentor, tutor, or teacher

-Advocating for policies and programs that provide more resources and support for underprivileged and marginalized students

Anonto Primary School plays an important role in providing good education, cultural practice and healthy mental development for students from underprivileged and marginalized communities. Even with the support of donors, the school does not have a permanent solution, and it is important for members of the community with the means to do so to come forward and support the school to ensure that these children have access to education. Education is a basic human right and steps must be taken to ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to it.
