Celebrating National Girl Child Day 2024

On the theme “In the Dreams of Girls, We See the Future of Bangladesh,” the development organization UTSA, with support from Diakonia under the HEART project, organized a vibrant event for National Girl Child Day 2024.

The event, held at Alhaj Mostafa Hakim High School Field in New Monsurabad, featured a thoughtful discussion on the day’s theme, led by Assistant Head Teacher Nahida Kulsum, Senior Teachers Kaniz Fatema and Bubbly Chowdhury, UTSA’s Program Coordinator Muhammad Shah Alam, and Program Officer Ripa Palit.

The cultural program also featured a play titled “Swapoful,” written and directed by Suman Sarker. The play addressed issues of gender equality, women’s empowerment, and child marriage prevention.

Cast of the play included:

Imam Mehdi Miraj, Dipto Chowdhury, Sabrina Reza Shimul, Mohammad Nasir, Romija Sultana, Faria Sultana Preeti, Imran Khan Sahil, Arafat Hossain, Sohana Akter, and Md. Sultan.

Let’s continue empowering our girls for a brighter tomorrow!
