Successful Completion of 5 Street Theatre Shows on Landslide Risk Awareness

As part of the ongoing initiative on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for Landslide Risk Mitigation, a total of five community-based street theatre performances titled “Nayan-Tara’s Tale” have been successfully completed in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. The initiative is being implemented by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with support from UNDP, and performed by the theatre unit of Unite Theatre for Social Action (UTSA). The performances were conducted across vulnerable communities in Rajapalong, Palongkhali, and Jaliapalong Unions, engaging local residents through participatory storytelling and interactive theatre. Fear of exposure, legal complications, and social stigma often prevent survivors from lodging complaints with the authorities. To provide a safe and confidential alternative, the online reporting platform aamarkotha.com has been launched. 4th Expressive Psychotherapy Session Held with College and University Students of Chattogram

A daylong expressive psychotherapy session focusing on the psychosocial well-being of female students was held at Caritas Hall, Chattogram. The session brought together 20 female students from various colleges and universities, creating a safe and interactive space to share experiences and strengthen resilience. The session was conducted by Obaidul Islam Munna, Expressive Psychotherapist of BTTI, who used theatre-based therapeutic tools, group dialogue, and creative exercises to help participants release emotional stress, overcome trauma, and rebuild confidence. Tree Plantation and Art Competition Organized by UTSA

Chattogram, 13 August 2025: The “Let’s Green The Environment” campaign, organized by UTSA, in association with Progroshor and supported by Diakonia, was successfully held yesterday in Chattogram. As part of the program, members of Jubo Moncho planted trees along the Kattholi sea beach. An art competition on environmental protection was also organized at the UTSA office, with active participation from local adolescents. The prize-giving ceremony was attended by Mostafa Kamal Jatra, Executive Director of UTSA; Md. Adolescents Engage in Meaningful Dialogue on Mental Health & SRHR at Koishor Moncho Meetings

Unite Theatre for Social Action (UTSA), with the support of Diakonia and in association with Praggoshor, successfully organized two Quarterly Meetings with Koishor Moncho on July 14 and 15, 2025 at the UTSA premises. A total of 40 adolescents – 28 girls and 12 boys from Wards 9 and 13 of Chattogram City Corporation – participated in the sessions, which created a safe and inclusive platform for open dialogue on Mental Health and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). Noise Pollution Awareness Program: A Successful Community Initiative

On 26 December 2024, UTSA, under the HEART Project, in collaboration with Diakonia, hosted a significant event at Zela Shilpakala Academy, Chattogram, to raise awareness about the harmful effects of noise pollution. The event aimed to engage and educate the community about the importance of reducing noise pollution for a healthier and more peaceful society. The program featured a series of impactful activities: Silent Rally: Participants carried placards and marched to promote the message of a noise-free environment.
