Anonymous Reporting Platform “aamarkotha.com” Promotional Event Held

In Bangladesh, many incidents of violence against women remain unreported. Survivors often hesitate to inform the police or relevant institutions due to legal complications, administrative delays, fear of identity exposure, and social stigma.

To address this challenge, a secure and confidential online reporting platform, www.aamerkotha.com, has been developed. Through this platform, a woman or someone close to her can safely report incidents of gender-based violence (GBV). After verifying the information, the team connects the survivor with appropriate authorities or service-providing organizations. When needed, free mental health support is also arranged for survivors.

All personal information submitted on the platform remains strictly confidential and is accessible only to designated responsible persons.

This initiative is a joint effort of Dataful, UTSA, Daily Sangbad, and Daily Suprobhat Bangladesh, with financial support from Free Press Unlimited, Article 19, and the European Union.

As part of this program, an awareness session on the anonymous reporting platform “aamarkotha.com” was held on 13 July 2025 at the Art Gallery Hall of Zila Shilpakala Academy, Chattogram.

The session was attended by students from Port City University, Premier University, and the University of Chittagong. Participants were shown step-by-step how to safely and anonymously report incidents of gender-based violence through the platform. They were also encouraged to share this information among their peers to promote wider awareness and safe reporting practices.

The session was facilitated by Muhammad Shah Alam, Project Coordinator of UTSA.
