Bangladesh has been experiencing an increase in the frequency and intensity of heat waves, posing significant health risks to the population. In response, the youth group members of the HEART project organized an awareness campaign in Wierless Moor, Chattogram, to raise awareness about heatwave safety. They distributed fresh lemon juice to pedestrians, working people, students, rickshaw drivers, and van drivers, providing them with a refreshing way to stay hydrated.
The campaign also focused on educating the community about protective measures against heat waves, such as using umbrellas, drinking water, and taking regular breaks in shaded areas. With the collaboration of UTSA and Diakonias, this initiative aims to reduce the risks associated with extreme heat and promote a safer environment for everyone.
