Successful Completion of 5 Street Theatre Shows on Landslide Risk Awareness
As part of the ongoing initiative on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for Landslide Risk Mitigation, a total of five community-based street theatre performances titled “Nayan-Tara’s Tale” have been successfully completed in Ukhiya Upazila of Cox’s Bazar. The initiative is being implemented by the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with support from UNDP, and performed by the theatre unit of Unite Theatre for Social Action (UTSA). The performances were conducted across vulnerable communities in Rajapalong, Palongkhali, and Jaliapalong Unions, engaging local residents through participatory storytelling and interactive theatre. The play highlighted key issues such as environmental degradation, unsafe settlement practices, and the importance of community preparedness in reducing landslide risks.
